Ein Bremssattel, besteht im wesentlichen aus zwei Bremsklötzen, dem Gehäuse und einem Bremskolben, welcher beim Bremsen die Beläge gegen die Bremsscheibe drückt. Durch diesen Vorgang entsteht große Reibung. Diese führt wiederum dazu, dass sich der Belag der Klötze und der Bremsscheibe mit der Zeit immer mehr abnutzt und die Teile bei der Inspektion überprüft und ggf. ersetzt werden müssen. Das Bremskolbenrücksteller SET besteht aus 22 Teilen. Es enthält eine links- und eine rechtsdrehende Gewindespindel, mit der die Kolben geöffnet, als auch geschlossen werden können. Mit Hilfe der vielen Adapter die im Set enthalten sind, besteht die Möglichkeit, es für fast jede Automarke zu verwenden. Die einzelnen Druckelemente wurden mit einem Magnet ausgestattet, der für extra Halt bei den Mitnehmern sorgt und verhindern soll, dass sich die Druckplatten lösen.
Funktion eines Bremskolbenrückstellers
Zum Rückstellen des Bremskolbens werden drei Teile aus dem Werkzeug Set benötigt. Dabei handelt es sich um die Rückhalteplatte, die Spindel und einen Adapter. Bevor damit begonnen wird den Kolben zurück zu drehen, sollte vorab überprüft werden, ob dieser Links- oder Rechtsdrehend zurückgestellt werden muss und welche Druckplatte benötigt wird. In der Regel müssen sogenannte „Ball in Ram“ Bremssättel links und „Cam in Slot“ rechts zurück gedreht werden.
